Sociopathy Breeds Success Tully Blanchard - a certified legend - was maddeningly insufferable. That smirk. That condescending chuckle. That sawed-off alpha-jerk bully proclivity. Tully Blanchard is the exception to The Rules of Bullying, as laid out to us as children by our parents and teachers. He does NOT wither and disappear when you stand up to him. One of the hardest things to deal with when you are a life long wrestling fan who becomes a professional wrestler is some of the disappointment you encounter when meeting your childhood heroes. Some of your idols won’t just let you down on a professional level but on a personal level as well. You will meet men that you once thought walked on water only to realize that they can’t even stand on their own two feet. Men that you wouldn’t want your kids to grow up and become but this story isn’t about any of those men. The Big Man – Bull Bronson

The BIG Man The "big man" is, arguably, the foundation of professional wrestling. In generations past, if you were lucky enough to have matches that your dad (or mama) could take you to, it was the big man that most likely captured the young imaginations of the audience's younger members. Like, all of these guys are big, because I'm seven, but THAT guy is HUGE. Barry Blaustein's cut of Beyond the Mat depicted the scenario perfectly - standing on the aisle, gazing upward as the light is completely blocked out by a for-real monster. Growing up in eastern South Dakota, we had the opportunity to see the AWA, and their big man - the first big man I ever saw - was John Nord, who became The Viking/Berserker in WWE.…

Matt Riviera: Wrestling’s Rap Mogul
